Contract Regulatory Business Analyst - Financial sector - Risk Management Company - Regulatory Reporting BA - £550 to £600 per day - COREP/FINREP implementation.

Well established (20+yrs), Software House providing collateral management and regulatory compliance software solutions to banks and financial institutions to the international Banking community.

My client is currently seeking a contract Regulatory Business Analyst, to be based in their London head office to be responsible for analysing regulatory publications and assist in the translation of the regulatory rules into a design document that can be used as a basis for developing the regulatory solution.

Relationship Responsibilities

* The Business Analyst will work primarily on the COREP/FINREP implementations.
* Use strong analytical and investigative questioning skills to breakdown regulatory documents (specifically those provided by the EBA such as CP/50, CP/51, CP/2012/05, CP/2012/06, CP/2012/08 and later) into a more structured document of requirements for use by geographically dispersed development and testing teams.
* Provide guidance on the data required to meet regulatory requirements and discuss the potential impact on the products, assist with release planning.
* Provide development with an understanding of the business requirements/functional specification and work with development teams on an appropriate design.
* Provide Quality Assurance with an understanding of the business requirement/functional specification and work with Quality Assurance team to ensure that appropriate test cases are designed which validate the work from development, and discuss exception raised from any need to review regression testing scripts.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

* Use strong analytical and investigative questioning skills to breakdown regulatory documents into a more structured document of requirements.
* Translating the regulations into a design document, that can be used by developers to build new regulatory products. Producing any such documentation in such a way that it can be understood by other parts of the business that may not necessarily have English as their first language.
* Communicating directly with developers to provide guidance and resolve any issues that arise.
* Creating test scenarios that replicate client data and examine how they work in the product, providing feedback to developers when complete.
* Ability to explain the product to new and existing clients.
* Ability to monitor Regulators website for potential up-and-coming regulation and be able to document and explain this to various parts of the business.
* Work with the consultants: agreeing the scope for releases and challenging the issues that have raised and are in scope for the release.
* Take part in Project Board meetings.
* Be prepared to take part in pre-sales meetings, being able to explain the product and regulatory requirements to them.

Qualifications and Skills

* 5+ years of work experience of Regulatory Reporting with knowledge of a wide range of products OR experience of working in the Regulatory Department of Accountancy firms having dealt with Regulatory Audits.
* Background in Regulatory Reporting, with good knowledge of Basle 2 and IRR and experience of implementation of major regulatory changes.
* Strong client presentation skills.
* Good sense of humour.
* The following skills will add value but are only a nice to have; knowledge of Market Risk (FSA5), especially Securitisations and Credit Derivatives. Experience of previous COREP and FINREP returns would also be an advantage (in particular MKR)
