We are looking for a number of Engineers to join one of our clients on a Military Project.

We are looking for:
Contract Mechanical Design Engineers - Chassis
Mechanical Design Engineers - Underbody Packaging
Mechanical Design Engineers - Vehicle Packaging

Working on Military Vehicle Systems
Nuneaton, Warwickshire
6 months - 12 Months

The company is undertaking work to assist a military vehicle manufacturer to introduce new chassis design concepts hence there is a need for additional support for this work. The work will involve looking at an existing package, components & elements with a clear mandate to develop and where required change the package in order deliver a robust design going forward that will support the vehicles attributes & performance.

The successful mechanical design engineers will need to work very prescriptively within various processes and protocols of the client company whilst drawing upon and utilising their own design skills in order to make this a success.

Working with the design leader you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a new vehicles, vehicle systems, internal projects and rigs to support the client's requirements

Skills & Competencies:
oStrong user of ProEngineer (ProE) 3D solid modelling CAD tools
oPrevious mechanical design engineering within military vehicle projects and programmes
oAble to undertake and satisfy UK MoD security vetting
oKnowledge of chassis systems design (steering, brakes, etc) would be preferred
oA relevant qualification (e.g. HND / Degree - Mechanical engineering, automotive engineering etc)
oPrevious Proven ability in vehicle system and component design
oGood visualisation and engineering skills covering either body or chassis systems, Has a good understanding of the sub system elements and their interactions (such as chassis, BIW & Trim)

Others:
oKnowledge of Auxiliary Power Units (APU), weight reduction, HVAC / Cooling systems could also be useful
oTime spent with design off-highway, commercial or large commercial vehicle systems could be considered

Candidates should be good communicators with positive "can do" attitudes that are able to work effectively as part of a team, be supportive, able to adapt to change and should enjoy a challenge!
