Contract Manager - 6 months - Kingswinford OR Nottingham - Negotiable Rate

A leading Energy and Utilities client of Hyphen is looking to recruit a Contract Manager, to work at one of their sites in either Kingswinford or Nottingham.

Key Skill Requirements:
* Substantial commercial experience
* Experience of preparing and maintaining commercial documents
* A working knowledge of contract law
* Able to work autonomously in providing commercial advice and solutions.
* Able to develop and manage effective working relationships with a wide variety of Stakeholders, often at a senior level
* The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and influence decisions.
* A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving and challenging established thinking.
* Have a full driving licence and be prepared to travel to other client sites, third party offices and industry forums on a national basis.

Job Summary/Description:
Managing the process of creation, negotiation and the on-going management of Commercial Contracts delivering excellent customer service, value for money and safety performance whilst ensuring adherence to client Corporate Governance. This shall include Budgetary Control and Business Risk Processes, the primary role being to ensure commercial integrity on all matters and contracts within the annual £100m Commercial spend.
* Management of all contract related activities, including the development and creation of brand new commercial contracts and associated contract variations.
* Devising and drafting new contract schedules detailing the specific goods and/or services being purchased in line with clients business requirements.
* Engage directly with senior internal and external stakeholders (up to Director-level) and operational teams across Energy Solutions to ensure excellent performance delivery.
* Ensuring adherence to the clients Contractor Safety and Engagement policy, including carbon reduction programmes & delivery against our safety, responsible, working together, quality, cost and delivery measures.
* Establish and conduct monthly/quarterly performance reviews with third parties and key internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of services to meet our vision of being our customers' Trusted Energy Partner.
* Work closely with third parties to identify and drive the successful delivery of service improvements and initiatives to improve contracted services or provide cost savings which benefit the client. Applying business knowledge and commercial expertise to contribute to the development and drive the delivery of the clients business strategy.
* Identification and management of any business risks associated with the contracted service, up to and including the clients UK Board-level.
* Ensuring that commercial contracts remain compliant with the clients corporate governance model, meeting all contractual, commercial, legal and regulatory requirements and obligations and actual contract spend is within its authorised budget and any potential under/overspend is managed within that governance. You'll need to work flexibly within the Commercial Team by providing support to the Commercial Partnership Manager and the wider Energy Solutions Management Team whilst supporting the relationship with third parties.

Industry Qualifications:
* Would prefer Industry (Utility) experience, although specific qualifications are not required.
