My client is a major Government Body, looking for a contracts manager and requiring a very fast turn around. Applicants need to be aware that they need to able to interview within a 24hrs and can start immediately before applying for this opportunity.

The overall purpose of this role is to provide professional contract management of the outsourced Inspection Services contracts which deliver inspections on my Client behalf across a range of remits. These contracts are a core and strategically important tool for achieving HMCI's vision on raising the bar on the services that our children and young people receive. The post-holders will use effective contract management practice to help the Client achieve best value for money, while maintaining and improving service quality by creating the right supplier relationship and ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are being adhered to.

Key accountabilities:

The key accountabilities of the role are outlined below. However, this is a basic overview of the role and is not exhaustive.

*Act as the expert source of knowledge and single point of contact on terms and conditions, legal implications, deliverables and other objectives relating to the inspection service contracts;

*Build and maintain effective working relationships with key supplier contacts, ensuring all communications are clearly documented;

*Regularly monitor and report on supplier performance including progress against Key Performance Indicators and other relevant targets, ensuring the supplier has delivered services in accordance with the Client's requirements;

*Liaise with internal clients, commercial advisers and other professional colleagues

*Ensure compliance, minimise risks and ensure value for money is realised, seeking additional advice from other commercial colleagues as necessary;

*Manage the change control process, negotiating, agreeing and/or recommending changes as required;

*Manage exit and transition on expiry of contract, contributing to re-procurement exercise as required;

*Maintain accurate records on all matters relating to the contract.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

*Demonstrable ability to understand and advise on all contractual matters, quickly absorbing contractual terms and conditions, identifying where contract change may be required, with experience in negotiating, agreeing and implementing resulting changes.

*Proven experience in developing effective working relationships with suppliers, establishing and managing appropriate governance arrangements.

*Significant experience in evaluating and monitoring supplier performance against KPIs and recommending remedial action where necessary, using all available management information to improve performance.

*Experience in ensuring supplier performance is maintained during transition and/or exit from existing arrangements.
