We are looking for a Mainframe Developer to join one of our clients. Our client is looking to evolve their systems to meet future business outcomes as well as implement changes to their current systems to deliver on government initiatives and legislative changes.

You would be required to work under the direction of the Project Manager and the Development Lead to assist in:

- Performing detailed technical analysis of business and functional enhancements planned. 
- Coding and developing changes, including the preparation of technical specifications and other documentation and code reviews.
- Consulting with other internal groups including end to end solution designers, detailed designers, testers, design and technical architects to provide best practice and product capability advice in relation to the application 
- Working in a team environment, implement complex solutions and provide technical expertise for successful implementation of change. 
- Understanding and implementing the principles of Relational database design and structured Cobol programming in a z/os Mainframe environment

The Specified Personnel will be required to:

- Contribute to projects or activities involving the development and/or maintenance of computer applications 
- Provide advice and undertake more complex activities associated with developing and/or supporting computer applications in a Mainframe environment.
- Review Functional Design documentation and escalate potential issues or gaps and provide recommended solution options. 
- Assist with investigation and analysis of complex problems, provide technical advice and create technical designs, processes and architecture. 
- Contribute to all phases of a development work including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and/or administrative tasks.
