Construction Manager

A leading Engineering Firm is currently seeking a Construction Manager to lead and complete numerous small capital projects from inception to completion. Qualified candidate must have 8+ years of construction management experience in a refinery/ petrochemical environment. A degree in Construction Management is highly desired but not required. This is a contract position slated to last 6 months to a year and is located in South West Chicago. Our client is only seeking local talent at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Act as the liaison between clients, contractor's and subcontractor's on construction projects.
- Review contractor's quality control procedures. Observe whether the contractor complies with the overall plan and job specifications.
- Assist with the development of the Procurement Plan and Status Report (PPSR).
- Assist in monitoring budgets, forecast to complete and project productivity data.
- Establish and monitor schedules for construction.
- Ensure that all contractors are performing their work in accordance OSHA and the Owners safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS

- Familiar with all types of construction work permits (confine space, hot work, cold work, line breaks etc)
- A degree in Construction Management is highly desired relevant experience will also be considered
- General knowledge of PC based programs such as Excel, Word Perfect, Microsoft Project, P3 and Prolog
- Experience overseeing small capital construction projects in a refinery or petrochemical facility
