Configuration Technician

A+ Certified Configuration Technician Needed

We are seeking an A+ Certified Configuration Technician, preferably with hardware and peripheral deployment experience in a corporate environment for a temp to hire opportunity within CompuCom. Contact us to find out why CompuCom IT Workforce Solutions is the employer of choice for contractors!

OVERVIEW:

Interacts and communicates directly with high level client personnel.

Refreshes computers from XP (and similar) to Windows 7 operating systems.

Tests configured systems for appropriate functioning and troubleshoots for any errors found.

Completes all required documentation of installation including a quality assurance sheet to ensure accurate billing with respect to warranty contract, proper processing of defective products and timely vendor returns and reimbursements.

Follows customer personal computer system hardware and software specifications based on the configuration services being performed and the instructions supplied

Complies with departmental training certification requirements based on configuration level.

Troubleshoots malfunctioning units using efficient problem solving techniques and departmental procedures.

Researches hardware and software literature to keep abreast on new product/service developments and announcements.

Works with Lead Technicians on difficult to solve problems or configurations.
Schedules and confirms own appointments and communicates directly with end users.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Current A+ Certification IS REQUIRED.

Requires 2 - 3 years' directly relevant experience in hardware and software support and break/fix

Peripheral break/fix support is very valuable.

Experience supporting a wide variety of hardware products is very valuable in this role.

Strong customer service skills both in person and in providing support over the phone.

8am 5pm work schedule subject to change.
