Configuration Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage a team of two staff, tasking and ensuring knowledge coverage
* Own and improve the configuration management system, process and toolset, ensuring responsibilities are understood
* Responsible for the accuracy of the Configuration Management System (CMS)
* Define and manage a roadmap to ensure the configuration management solutions keep pace with business need and technology and tool advances
* Be the subject matter expert in configuration management
* Capture and analyse management information to manage and report team and process effectiveness
* Represent the Configuration Management function within the organisation
* Provide training and guidance in the use of the CMDB and processes

Knowledge and Experience Required:

* The job holder should have experience working in an enterprise IT environment with highly integrated systems.
* The job holder should have experience as a Configuration manager preferably gained within a mature ITIL environment.
* The job holder should have an excellent knowledge of systems architecture and have a good understanding of Network, Server infrastructure and application technologies.
* Strong analytical and modelling skills with experience of documenting requirements.
* The ability to quickly absorb new information and keep up-to-date with technology development is essential.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including MS Visio.
* Experience using the HP uCMDB and DDMa products.
* Experience using Enterprise Architect or TOGAF.
* ITIL (V2 or V3) Foundation Qualification.
* ITIL V2 Configuration Management Practitioner or ITIL V3 Life Cycle Certificate in Service Transition qualifications.
* The job holder should have experience working in an enterprise IT environment with highly integrated systems.
