Projektbeschreibung
We are looking for a Confuguration Manager for the "Windows Communication" Business domain.
Our team is responsible for the development of clients communication interfaces. The new web-based tool that simplifies the way clients connect to and use our services. It allows to perform tasks quicker and more efficiently.
As Configuration Manager, your tasks will include:
Guardian of the Code "organization"
The configuration manager will ensure that the development and the maintenance of the code (and relevant integration material) is managed in line with approved Guidelines in terms of:
Code organization and folder structures
Way to develop and maintain Unit Tests (eg unit tests against a physical dB or via "Stubs")
Branching Management (in close collaboration with Configuration Management)
For this role, the configuration manager will have interactions with the "Application Domain Owner", Configuration Management team and Development leads.
Collect relevant information
Be responsible to build the scope of each (inter)release regarding the following new and/or modified items:
Code (Back End and Front End)
Scripts (eg aging, data conversion)
SSIS packages (SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) used to perform a broad range data migration tasks)
MQ configuration
Database changes (change of schema, new columns, index changes)
Config files
Technical frameworks
For this role, the configuration manager will have interactions with Development leads and with Infrastructure and Frameworks teams
For each Release, the Configuration Manager must build the list of all items that will be impacted and/or created
Maintain and Pro-actively share information
Maintain the information up-to-date (version management) and keep it available for relevant stakeholders
Maintain a release calendar/dates (also taking care of Inter releases and production bug fixes)
Make sure that the Main Branch is always containing the Production version that can be used for Merge/Retrofit activities
Provide any new development team with a stable starting point
Provide any development lead with an idea of the size of the retrofit to come by correctly listing all impacts qualifying a specific release
Pro-actively push information to Development leads when a new version is available in the main branch
For this role, the Configuration Manager will have interactions with Development Leads, Testing team and Configuration Management team
- Central entry point for Configuration Management team and Testing Factory
Be the unique entry Point for any interaction with Configuration management team in terms of:
1. Branching approach
2. Release date/scope
3. Merge/retrofit activities (and associated required reporting)
Be the central entry point for the Test leads dealing with Environment set-up and retrofit activities
Profile:
Mandatory:
- Team Foundation Server (experience in setting up Microsoft Team Foundation Server for a large user-base)
- Scrum (theoretical and practical knowledge)
Additional skills:
- VB.NET is a strong asset
- You have a strong process-minded attitude
- You have a strong affinity for change (roll-out changes) and Configuration Management
- You are meticulous in your work
- You have good analytical skills
- You are a strong communicator and negotiator
- You have a critical mindset and a natural risk averse attitude
- You speak/write English fluently (French or Dutch is an asset)
