Our client is the leading computer components manufacturing company seeking a candidate for a dual engineering role.

AS A CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT ENGINEER:

- Establish, communicate, enforce, and execute automated build process including training developers, delivering releases to path to production environments, driving release cadence, and continuous quality improvements eg reducing build times and problems
- Work with developers to ensure correct usage of source code control tools so that accurate stats and documentation of releases can be generated from the tools - eg directory tree structure is respected, labels are used properly, comments in source code control are completed, and links to tracking tools are established properly
- Act as the gatekeeper for a coherent source code change management policy - includes merging code branches across developers, projects, and releases (eg production fix merged into development branches after verification).
- Ensure smooth operation of platforms being used for product development and participate in customer installations at pilot sites.
- Possible: administer JIRA workflows, screen configurations, and permissions across multiple parallel projects.

AS A SYSTEM ENGINEER:

- Specify and source path to production computers and customer pilot computers.
- Install operating systems and maintain patches on path to production and customer pilot computers.
- Work with IT and customer IT on network configuration and access issues when deploying the product.
- Work with IT on network configuration for connecting development environments inside and outside of Intel (required understanding of lab networking, Firewall implementation, and security policies).
- Assist QA with creation, configuration, and on demand installation of test environments
- Assist developers with obtaining, installing, and configuring third party tools used either in products or in support of product development.
- Provide assistance when troubleshooting technical problems during development.
- Develop installation scripts for commercial product using industry standard software installation creation software.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 10+ years in configuration management and system engineering
- Programming languages: Java (server), C++ (Embedded applications), C (firmware)
- Source code control system: Git on external BitBucket site
- Agile Tracking Tool: JIRA in the Atlassian on-demand hosted environment
- QA tool: Test Rail
- Build tool: Bamboo
- Experience with Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Linux (RedHat/Ubuntu)
- Ghost or similar image management software
