Rate: £32.20 per hour

OUTSOURCE UK LTD is actively seeking to recruit a Senior Configuration Engineer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The purpose of the Senior Configuration Engineer role is to manage delivery of configuration engineering activities in a professional manner, working within own competence without day to day supervision.
To deliver Configuration engineering best practice to deliver optimised Configuration Engineering solutions into IPT's to meet requirements, at optimised cost.
Undertake engineering configuration activities within own competence including liaison with customers and suppliers as appropriate.
Make engineering configuration decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
Provide assistance and guidance to less experienced team members.
Manage own elements of engineering configuration work package.
Take responsibility for contributing to team planning, risk management, quality and HSE.
Support and contribute to departmental ethos in terms of technical understanding, leadership, and simultaneous engineering within IPTs.
Re-inforce departmental standards for behaviours, technical capability and quality of Configuration engineering Management and Project Data Control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful Senior Configuration Engineer candidate will be responsible for the following:
Maintenance and management of Master Record Indexes
Actioning configuration elements to produce Manufacturing Data Packs for approved changes
Change Board Management and facilitation
CMP Maintenance
Change Control

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Excellent working knowledge of Teamcenter PDM tool
Excellent knowledge of Configuration Management DEF STAN 05-57
IT literate Use of Excel, Word and a Product Management Tool essential, preferably Teamcenter and SAP
Meticulous record keeping
Experience of Customer and Supplier Audit an advantage
Excellent understanding of the 5 key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audit
