Configuration & Deployment Manager (Java Institution in Brussels

Ordina is currently searching a Configuration & Deployment Manager for one of the Directorate Generals within the EU Commission.

MISSION

Non-exhaustive list of the tasks to be carried out to assist the operations manager:
- Manage development infrastructure and tools
- Define and maintain operational processes and procedures
- Monitor availability, stability and performance of SYSPER
- Develop and maintain build and deployment scripts
- Supervise non-regression functional testing
- Manage operational incidents
- Take proactive actions to reach pre-agreed level of service

TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT

- The work will be carried on the Commission's premises in Brussels.
- The methodology used for development is based on or
- The tool used for database design is Oracle Designer.
- The technical environment is based on Oracle 11g and Weblogic 12.
- Eclipse is used as Java development environment.
- RTC or JIRA is used for source control and activity tracking.
- RFT and Selenium are used for functional testing
- Internet Explorer 11 and Firefox are the web browsers.
- TOAD or SQL Developer is used as development utility for Oracle.
- All documents must be written in MS Word 2010.

REQUIRED EXPERTISE:

Minimum a TOTAL of 12 years' experience with one or more of the following:
- deployment procedures,
- change management,
- deployment tools,
- WebLogic, Oracle, Java and Web related technologies

Education & Experience:

- Minimum 8 years of IT professional experience
- At least 2 year experience in deployment procedures
- Experience in IT quality procedures
- Excellent knowledge of software deployment and release management
- Excellent knowledge of Oracle WebLogic
- Good knowledge of building and deployment tools (Ant, Maven)
- Good knowledge of Web and Java related technologies (HTML, CSS, Struts, Spring MVC, Tiles, JSP, Solr, XSLT, FOP, BIRT, EJB2/3, Spring core, Spring JDBC, etc.)
- Knowledge of testing tools (RFT, Selenium, Junit, Mockito, DBUnit)
- Knowledge of development tools
- Knowledge of ORACLE RDBMS
- Knowledge of RUP and AGILE methodologies
- Knowledge of ITIL is an advantage

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following nontechnical skills:

- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
- Ability to understand, speak and write French and English
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on a large project
