Configuration/Deployment Manager

For a long term contract in Basel we are looking for a Configuration/Deployment Manager

The role is about designing and implementing measures in the area of configuration/change/release management and processes; introducing and updating the required methods and standards, systems and tools. The Configuration/Deployment Manager would report to Informatics Project Manager and work with Technical and Test Leads to define, document and manage configuration requirements and standards for code management.

Responsibilities:

- Ensuring proper usage of the version control system (Subversion) and that the code is checked in with descriptive comments
- Working closely with Development team leads, TPMs and SMs who need to enforce that standards are followed
- Monitoring how code management is performed
- Documenting and communicating standards to relevant stakeholders
- To be the single point of contact (SPOC) for all changes into Non-Production environments ie major/minor releases, system upgrades, system patches etc.
- Having a holistic view of changes and ensuring that all aspects of deployments, both technical and non-technical, are covered
- Coordinating deployment communications, preparations and confirm deliverables ie release notes, IQ/OQs, etc
- Ensuring that the system meets informatics quality standards
- Reducing production operational issues at the outset of production releases
- Minimizing impacts for production releases and in case the need requires, allowing recovery actions to quickly take place in a controlled and planned manner ie the proper rollback procedures are followed to restore the environment in the previous state.
- Providing control for situations where concurrent changes are occurring
- Coordinating all project teams associated with the current deployment
- Facilitating team communication to ensure that all deployment components are implemented according to a schedule
- Proactively suggesting activities to improve process, delivery and quality
- Establishing basic communication standards and processes between Deployment Management and other interfacing teams
- Proactively addressing and planning long term hardware and software resource needs of the team.

Requirements

- Strong experience as a Confirgutaion/Deployment Manager
- Working experience in a global environment
- Preferably experience in Pharmaceutical industry
- Must be fluent in English language
