Configuration Controller

Thales are looking for a Configuration Controller to join our team based in Cheadle. The Configuration Controller is rresponsible for capturing, controlling and releasing configuration information for Locations, Systems, Hardware, Software and Firmware at all stages of the life cycle. The Configuration Controller Ensures Configuration data and documents relating to various stages of the life cycle is related, valid and fit for purpose at all times. The Configuration Controller creates and distributes various configuration management information describing configuration status.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Identifies, captures and releases design & technical information

Creates and maintains build intent records

Captures and stores build actual records

Performs gap analysis on build intent and build actual information

Supports the design change control process (internal & external)

Creates and maintains Configuration Status Accounting and Configuration Items Lists records

Administers and provides user support to the project/product team with respect to the PLM tool and CM processes

Supports PCA & FCA

Supports the Project/Bid Configuration Manager with Planning, Mgt, Audit and Assessment activities when requested

Retains or archives technical information when required and ensures

Experience:

Successfully performed all identification, configuration control & status accounting CM processes across the entire system/product life cycle, administered/supported the CM tool/s and supported PCA & FCA (LR7)

Successfully performed all identification, change control & status accounting CM processes across the entire system/product life cycle and administered/supported the CM tool/s

Successfully performed some of the identification, configuration control & status accounting CM processes across the entire system/product life cycle

Qualifcations & Training

Recognised CM qualification/training (CMII/ITIL/Thales/EIA-649/Def Stan 05-57)

Competent with CM IT Tools (prefer PTC Windchill)

Knowledgeable in CM processes

Familiar with Systems Engineering and System/Product Lifecycles

Successfully performed all identification, configuration control & status
