CONFERENCE & EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR

We're looking for a Conference & Events Co-ordinator who has a real passion for delivering top class service. Working within our strong commercial team, The Mere needs an individual with vibrancy and passion who can engage with our clients on a daily basis via email, telephone and face to face - ensuring high conversion rates from enquiries through to confirmed bookings. As a Conference & Event coordinator you will be responsible for planning events that range from a boardroom meeting for 2 up to a wedding reception for 700!

THE ROLE

* Respond to all group enquiries in a timely, confident and professional manner, displaying a clear and comprehensive knowledge of the hotel, its facilities and details, taking every opportunity to upsell.
* To be creative in your commercial activity, by seeking out new ideas from events attended and competitor activity, and sharing these within the wider commercial team.
* Converting all provisional and tentative bookings on Opera adhering to the booking journey.
* Ensuring all signed correspondence is received and recorded accordingly including deposit and payment terms.
* Conducting client "show rounds" professionally, taking every opportunity to upsell.
* Booking third party services in accordance with company and hotel procedures.
* Carrying out after event sales calls within 3 days of the event, providing all feedback & repeat business conversion as a weekly report.".
* Promoting weddings for the hotel, maximising revenue through following standard sales practices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
* Opera or similar booking system experience is preferred
* Candidate must be computer literate
* Knowledge of conference & wedding planning in 4* hotel is preffered
