My client, a leading independent consultancy who provides compliance services to the financial sector are looking for a Conduct Lead to start work ASAP on an initial 6 month contract based in London.

PURPOSE OF ROLE;

- Develop and implement the Category Conduct plan
- Lead the team, defining and driving the objectives and performance
- Develop appropriate Conduct culture across category
- Contribute to and support the delivery of the overall Category strategy for Products, P
- Develop and maintain the conduct risk processes for product including assurance and compliance monitoring
- Oversee product monitoring activities, owning action plans and providing appropriate challenge
- Support new proposition/process/regulatory developments ensuring Conduct fully considered
- Own the Category engagement with Operations, Risk, Legal and Compliance on all risk matters
- Responsible for preparation of regulatory responses and gather information from across the category to support reporting to the regulator
- Lead the forward looking industry/regulatory interaction on behalf of the Category and provide advance notice on new regulations and their impact for the Category
- Oversee remediation programmes to assure they are adequately designed and proceeding appropriately
- Monitor and report on conduct best practice, comply with all policies, and deliver compliance against regulatory and legal obligations
- Own, manage and supervise the risks which exist in the business area, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, manage and mitigate risk within Risk Appetite
- People Management - Provide leadership and direction to the team and the Category to ensure employees are actively engaged. Promote and support staff development by effective performance management and objective setting.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE;

- Experience of Banking industry, regulatory and commercial environment
- Evidence of strong leadership and people management skills and the ability to influence to Senior Executive level
- In-depth knowledge and experience of first and second line of defence activities at a senior level
- Experience in conduct risk methodologies including regulations, framework design and deployment, and oversight challenge.
- Broad understanding of conduct risks relevant to key business activities undertaken within a Retail financial services organization
- Knowledge of relevant legal policies, regulations and risk management
