CONCESSIONARY TRAVEL - FRAUD AND AUDIT CONTROL MANAGER - 3 MONTH CONTRACT - GLASGOW

I am currently working with a Transport industry client that requires the services of an individual with an extensive transport industry background, knowledge and exposure to bus industry operations and ticketing technology. Ideally the candidate will also have experience in fraud and audit controls.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Transport groups Concessionary Travel and Integrated Ticketing Unit are responsible for payments of funds to bus operators for carriage of older and disabled people and fuel rebate under the Bus Service Operator's Grant.

We have in place claim validation and audit processes part of which includes agreement to operator's proposed fare tables.

This role is to engage with the relevant project staff, understand the processes in place, review them and offer appropriate alternatives or additional options. Due to the skills and technology already in place the post holder must have knowledge of the subject matter and bus industry operations, business development and structures.

Delivery of options are required within twelve weeks.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
- Good analytical skills
- Good ability to use electronic technology
- Thorough knowledge of concessionary travel Scheme and bus service operator grant in Scotland
- Knowledge of commercial bus operation in Scotland
- Knowledge of bus ticketing technology in Scotland

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Experience of fraud and audit controls.

Candidates will require a Basic Disclosure Scotland valid within the last 12 months to complete BPSS clearance.
