Position Summary
The National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) at Utah State University is seeking an innovative person with appropriate training and experience to take the position of Computer Technician Senior for a Tele-Intervention Grant. This position is a .5 to .75 FTE position working with a multi-disciplinary team to support and develop tele-intervention services for families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. The allocation of time for this position will be divided among providing technical assistance and support to families (60%), setting up and maintaining hardware (30%), and supporting the research team (10%).
NCHAM engages in a variety of research, training, dissemination, and technical assistance activities designed to expand and improve the quality of newborn hearing screening programs and the provision of effective, timely and appropriate diagnostic and intervention services for young children with hearing loss.
Initial contract is for 12 months, with subsequent employment dependent on availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities
1) Configure and maintain laptop computers used by service providers and in homes of families participating in tele-intervention, including hardware (laptops, cameras) and software (Skype, FaceTime, Real Time video recording and playback) installation and configuration 
2) Establish and troubleshoot broadband Internet connections in homes 
3) Troubleshoot telecommunication, hardware, and software problems with families and providers as needed 
4) Provide ongoing technology support and assistance to early intervention providers' and families' use of web-conferencing (eg, Skype, FaceTime) 
5) Provide ongoing communication with research team related to progress and challenges

Minimum Qualifications
1) Knowledge and experience with:
a) Internet communication technology (eg, Skype, FaceTime)
b) Windows and Mac configuration and management
c) Computer cloning (such as Norton Ghost)
d) Network wireless troubleshooting
e) Managing and configuring Windows Servers
f) Creating simple written instructions for families and providers
2) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact successfully with people in person, over email and on the telephone
3) Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to meet deadlines
4) Ability to travel to families' homes along the Wasatch front, in Cache Valley, and throughout Utah
5) At least 4 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
1) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent field
2) Fluent in English and Spanish
