Computer Application Specialist (Tooling)

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION: 

End-Client has developed a high available datacentre capability to service her Asset Optimisation & Trade (AOT) department in Sweden, Germany and The Netherlands with the operations of mission critical applications.

The JIP phase 2 project is responsible the migration of multiple applications and databases from the current hosting location to the new HA DC. One of the subprojects of JIP Phase 2 is the project Middleware and Databases, which provides the central platform to host these applications. In scope of this project is also the assessment, configuration, migration or implementation and deployment of tools. This concerns various tools, ie for version management, configuration management, batch job scheduling and monitoring in Unix, Linux and Microsoft environments.

- Analysis and assessment of already selected tools
- Setup and configuration of tools
- Testing (including modifications as a result of the tests, finetuning)
- Deployment
- Documentation
- Handover to High Availability services Back Office team

FUNCTION SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Education and proven knowledge/experience

- IT education at academic level or equivalent
- More than 10 year hands-on experience in systems management
- Proven extensive experience with configuration, implementation, and testing of tools
- Proven experience with Unix, Linux and Microsoft technical environments
- Good knowledge of two or more of the following tools:
- Dynatrace
- Nagios
- Secunia
- Cronicle
- Subversion
- cfEngine
- Fluent in English language (oral and written)
- Team player
- We are looking for an all-round, result driven, very experienced technical expert with a hands-on mentality. Systems/application management experience is not required, the focus is on migration/installation/configuration.
