Composite Design Engineer

Composite Design Engineer - Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering/Manufacturing

We require a Composite Designer who has experience of Catia V5 working within Aerospace or Automotive Manufacturing. The requirement is for a very self-motivated and energetic Technical Lead/Composites Design Engineer with Project, Business and Process development capability. Also comfortable around Stress Analysis and certification in an aero-structures and composites environment. The successful candidate will have strong Composite Design engineering experience. Stress experience is key.

You will design and develop complex composite aerostructures, both directly and providing oversight across internal/external work packages.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Education to HND/Degree level in mechanical/aerospace engineering or similar relevant discipline

The candidate shall have a design engineering background in the composites industry and ideally have experience of the design and/or stress analysis of composite components:

Essential
* Education to HND/Degree level in mechanical/aerospace engineering or similar relevant discipline
* Excellent communicator with ability to engage with confidence at all levels internally and externally
* Thorough understanding of the design approach for complex composite components (methodologies, design/FE tools, verification/validation)

Preferred
* Awareness of military and civil certification requirements for aircraft structures, systems or components
* Working knowledge of both traditional and new manufacturing techniques for fibre reinforced plastic and thermoplastic materials.
