My client, a leading UK Retail Bank, are currently recruiting for a Compliance Lead to support their Global Standard Programme. An excellent understanding of AML/Sanctions policies is essential for this role.

ROLE PURPOSE

- The Global Standards Programme has been formed to enable the bank to adopt and enforce the highest compliance and behavioural standards across the Group in an integrated way across lines of business at a global, regional and in-country level. A key programme objective is to embed the Financial Crime Risk controls across the full Customer Lifecycle. This will drive clarity on scope, accountabilities and the Target Operating Model for each country where the bank operates.
- The Global Standards Compliance Lead will have responsibility for maintaining and assessing the Global Master AML & Sanctions Programme Master Plan ( Compliance Plan') and Monitor Recommendations (together form the Compliance Scope ) to ensure that the programme plans are appropriately linked to the Compliance Scope across all Global Programmes, Global Businesses, 5 Regions, 70+ Countries and that dependencies and milestone reporting are interpreted and assessed accordingly across the various key internal and external forums.
- Improving the adoption of Global Standards reporting standards and leading the development of the Compliance Scope reporting materials (progress against Scope) based on inputs gathered from country, regional and global deployment teams. This includes status reports, RAIDs, Change Requests, Items for Management Attention, and other key executive reporting materials as required.
- This is a critical role due to the importance of transparent and robust risk management of the Global Standards Programme to the Group and external stakeholders, the criticality of quality and efficient Milestone Plans for AML & Sanctions, supporting Programme Plans for Customer Due Diligence, Financial Crime Compliance, Financial Intelligence and any other initiatives.
- The scale and complexity of the role's remit and the required stakeholder management, challenge and influencing across the organisation.

CUSTOMERS/STAKEHOLDERS

The role holder provides Global Standards programme Senior Executives at the bank including Global Standards Execution Committee, Group Management Board, Group Risk Management Meeting, & COO RMM with accurate and insightful analysis of the progress against the Programme Compliance Scope.

- The role holder builds strong relationships with Regions, Global Business and Programmes and provides guidance so that we adopt a joined up approach, to support the execution and governance reporting framework of the Global Standards Programme at pace and with minimum conflict
- Ensure that internal and external regulatory requirements are met
- Support the identification of the stakeholder goals and effectively manage their expectations, addressing any misalignment

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS

- Practitioner level Prince2, MSP or similar (eg PMI) - Highly desirable
- Knowledge of Clarity - Highly desirable
- Expert knowledge of planning tools (ideally OpenWorkbench) - Highly Desirable
- Expert knowledge of planning for Projects and Programmes - Highly Desirable

EXPERIENCE

- AML, Sanctions, Financial Crime Compliance SME
- Experienced with operating in a global regulatory environment
- Able to manage and analyse large data volumes
- Experience working within major global Change Programmes
- Proven ability to function as a manager across complex, multi-dimensioned, multi-cultural programmes
- Demonstrable experience of planning
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
- Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems
- Strong communication skills - applicable through multiple channels (written, spoken, workshops, presentations)
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment Strong interpersonal skills/team player
