Competitor Intelligence Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, who is currently recruiting for a Competitor Intelligence Manager. This is a temporary role to start ASAP and is expected to run for 3 months.

Brief Job Description and Key Accountabilities:

This role reports into the Global Competitor Intelligence Director for Food & Refreshment categories. The primary mission is to change management behaviour by driving a competitor focused mind-set and support a culture of anticipating & outflanking our competitors. Add value to business partners by identifying unique competitive data, recognising the strategic patterns of competitors across categories, regions, and time and defining value-added questionsorganisation and leadership; company financial performance and ambition; category performance and capabilities; investment patterns; vulnerabilities and strengths; functional capability; learning ability. Predict likely actions and category and geographical hot spots.
Perform scenario planning and shadow planning on likely competitor activities.

Requirements:

A good knowledge of Marketing or Finance Business Intelligence
Competitor analysis a distinct advantage but not essential
The role requires a blend of creativity, analytics and a bias to action which allows patterns to be perceived in sparse data, interpretation and understanding of consequences and an ability to develop an action plan to combat.
Interpersonal and communication skills and a pro-active attitude are required but in addition the candidate should be able to take a holistic view.
The candidate should have had practical exposure to global competitors through the marketplace. Similarly exposure to food and or refreshment categories although not necessary would be an advantage.
