*Compensation & Benefits Analyst-Chester-January 2014 start*

Hyphen Recruitment have an opportunity to work for a large financial services organisation based in Chester. Please be aware this role won't be commencing until January 2014. The role will be for 3 months initially but there may be a possibility of an extension thereafter.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery of global compensation programmes such as the total compensation planning and year end incentive decisioning process in line with the overall global project plans are key aspects of the role.
Provision of compensation consultation to assigned business areas, working with line of business leaders and extended HR partners to ensure that there is clear alignment between business objectives and the way that associates are rewarded.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

*Primary responsibility for the provision of compensation support to assigned business areas for all compensation matters.
*Ensure flawless execution and delivery of core compensation processes to the client groups.
*Compensation consultation in support of business initiatives including implementation of new functions, organisational re-design and role re-definition.
*Role profiling to ensure job codes and associated compensation are appropriate to individual/group responsibilities.
*Ensure that compensation governance and regulatory processes are followed.
*Project management of ad-hoc compensation initiatives.
*Ensure that financial accruals are adequate for the compensation programmes.
*Engagement with extended HR colleagues including UK HR Managers, Staffing, Line of Business & EMEA Compensation partners and Comp Service delivery to deliver objectives as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
*Proven analytical skills and an ability to interpret and use numerical data to drive decisions and to exercise sound judgement.
*Excellent interpersonal, communications, and organisational skills combined with ability to plan, organise and carry out multiple project assignments.
*Proven ability to engage a wide variety of audiences in a collaborative, results-oriented manner where negotiation and facilitation skills may also be required.
*Demonstrated success in consulting across functional areas.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
*Ability to manage multiple projects and work streams at one time and to and meet tight and changing deadlines.
*Able to work independently and as a part of multiple teams, both across the region and globally.
*Experience in working with senior leaders and ability to work across a heavily-matrixed environment.
*An understanding of the UK Card business and its respective functions and objectives.

Preferred
*Previous HR/business client relationship/consultancy experience.
