Communications Specialist Job

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in BAYTOWN, TEXAS.

- Internal/external communications or public relations
- Strong writing skills
- Newsletter content development

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Supports the Deputy Director of Communications in implementing both internal and external communication plans
- Ensure messages are consistent with the overall brand and meet company standards to maintain and promote the positive image on behalf of the organization
- Coordinate and develop content creation for site newsletter, digital signage and weekly e-newsletter.
- Content creation for the new social media network presence for the site as well as develop methods to increase audience reach.
- Support coordination of community outreach initiatives and other event planning activities, such as the company picnic and new company rollout events.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in communications, business management or related business discipline).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in internal and external communications, public relations, or journalism is preferred. Experience can include internships.
- Strong written skills required.
- Experience with social media networks for a professional organization is preferred - namely Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
- Ability to work several different projects simultaneously, comfortably switching gears as needed.
- Collaborative working style.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Working knowledge of graphic design and page layout is preferred.
- Experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
