SSE is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK with around 9 million customers. We are looking for a talented person with strong internal communications experience to join our Retail Transformation Business Change team, specifically to work on the Metering Transformation Programme (MTP). MTP is transforming SSE's Metering business so it can effectively deliver smart meters to all of SSE's customers in line with government requirements. MTP is now seeking a Project Communications Specialist who, working closely with the project delivery team, will be the focal point for all communications activities to enable the successful implementation of the project into the business.

To succeed in this exciting role, you will require a strong track record of internal communications development and delivery. You will also require the following: experience working in a change communications role in complex projects or programmes, ideally around business and systems implementations; experience in developing and delivering communication plans and materials to help ensure project success; the ability to turn complex technical language into messaging appropriate for the audience; experience in delivering communications using a variety of channels with a focus on 'hard to reach' employee groups, and measuring the effectiveness of communications.

You will also have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with the gravitas and credibility to engage business colleagues at all levels. You will also be extremely organised, with the ability to work on multiple activities with tight timescales. Additionally, you will have an excellent command of written and verbal English with strong attention to detail.

Above all, however, it will be your drive and enthusiasm as a Communications professional and your ability to think strategically that will ensure your success in this role.
