Communications Officer

Communications Officer required for the Plymouth area.

Pay will be £30,000 pro rata - role will be initially for 6 months with a 3 month review

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm - 37.5 hour week

To work with the division to:
- support new business development opportunities
- deliver appropriate employee communications that compliments the corporate comms
- Promote the division externally through the media and events
- Support all operational communications needs including mobilisations and campaigns
- Support the delivery of comms & marketing strategies & plans for the divisions that take into accounts the comms support for bids and new business opportunities, including proposition development, identification of USP's and key messaging

NBDand help to design communications to support these
* Support content for central channels such as Hub, Cascade and AmeyWorld
* Prepare relevant content for the Hub

External Comms
* Support divisional trade media features
* Cover out of hours press duty and work as required

Operational Comms
* Deliver communications requirements for key projects - ie planning applications, consultation and mobilisations
* Support the delivery of internal and external comms plans locally to support operational requirements, bids and new business opportunities
* To oversee communications with employees, the public and the client
* To scope and deliver community engagement initiatives and programmes to support winning work or existing clients ie community days/charitable events etc.
* Located as per the requirements of the contracts served. National travel required

Qualifications
* Comms qualification

Skills
* Commercial acumen with a good business knowledge and understanding
* Creative problem solving and prepared to think 'outside of the box'
* Good analytical skills
* Excellent writing skills

Experience
* Some comms or marketing experience
* Sector experience would be an advantage
* Some experience of working on bids and the Capture process
* Some experience of mobilisations
