Communications Manager - Freedom of Information

OUR KEY RAIL CLIENT URGENTLY REQUIRE A COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER ON A CONTRACT BASIS TO DELIVER THE COMMUNICATION WORKSTREAM FOR THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION PROGRAMME.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Working with the communications workstream lead to manage the programme COMMUNICATIONS PLAN
- Management of activity within the communications plan, to ensure successful delivery
- Writing content for the various communication activities associated with the programmes
- Liaising with members of the FOI and TRANSPARENCY programme teams to make sure that all key programme messages are identified and communicated clearly
- Assisting in identifying the most appropriate channels and format for each piece of communication activity
- Identifying KEY INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS and ensuring that communications are tailored for the individual audience
- Management of events within the communications plan. Working with the organisation's Communications function and all routes/functions to SET UP EVENTS INCLUDING PROGRAMME BRIEFINGS AND DELIVERY SESSIONS
- Completing all administrative activities associated with the communications programme plan
- Working, as necessary, with an external communications consultancy to deliver appropriate programme communications material
- Assisting with/ DELIVERING COMMUNICATION BRIEFINGS across the organisation to internal stakeholders and externally to various impacted stakeholders

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- A knowledge of the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT and the legislative framework within which it sits
- Project management experience
- Excellent WRITTEN AND AURAL COMMUNICATION skills
- Fine attention to detail
- EXPERIENCE IN MANAGING COMMUNICATIONS FOR A PROJECT, PROGRAMME, FUNCTION OR ROUTE
- Good strategic nous, and an aptitude for making the right decision under pressure
- High energy levels, the ability to work at pace in a changing environment and a commitment that if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well
- Ability to get the job done with minimal managerial supervision
