A Communication Specialist is required for a new long term project based in Scotland who will own, plan, develop and deliver successful communication activities.

THE ROLE

The Business Communication Specialist is the overall focal point for communications activities on a specified project..

On projects, the communications specialist defines an appropriate communications approach and plan in accordance with the business change framework and ensures its effective development and delivery to the business including all formal deliverables such as communication plans.

You will have at least 5 years' experience working in communications to include owning the communications approach for at least one or more large scale complex project or programme, demonstrating a strong track record of internal communications development and delivery. Demonstrates drive and enthusiasm as a communications professional with the ability to think strategically.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, deliver and own communication deliverables as required for the project or programme.
-

Design and develop (or lead communications analysts in the design and development of) the communications materials.
-

Deliver or manage the delivery of communications to the impacted audiences (eg via business implementation managers or trainers).
-

Use feedback from communications effectiveness measures, engagement surveys or business readiness assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement where appropriate.
-

Identify and maintain communication risks and issues and raise them with the Business Change Manager following the formal process.

Write and structure engaging communications using a range of channels

Have an excellent command of written and verbal English

Manage complex communications challenges, forming potential actions to help solve problems.

Develop and deliver communications plans and materials to help ensure project success.

Be able to influence and negotiate with the gravitas and credibility to engage business colleagues at all levels.

Be extremely organised, with the ability to work on multiple activities with tight timescales.

Ideally will have a degree in English or Communications, or other related discipline.
