Purpose of the job role:

The Communications Officer is jointly responsible for providing comprehensive communications planning, delivery and support across the organisation. This includes internal and external communications, maintaining online media (web, Intranet, social media), media relations and supporting events.

Duties and responsibilities

To contribute to the development and implementation of the Communications Strategy and ensure the strategy's objectives are reflected in all of the business's communications work, including managing the various agreed communications channels, managing the social media policy, promoting, develop and evaluating the success of the Communications Strategy and associated plans against objectives.

Maintain our online media presence (web, Intranet, and social media), ensuring it meets Plain English and accessibility standards, and advising the business on the Content Management Policy.

Manage media relations for the organisation, advise senior managers and Board members on media interviews, enquiries and crisis communications, act as media spokesperson if required and work with Haringey Council's press office.

Procure and manage communication related contracts, ensuring they meet the specification and deliverables.

Manage specific communications projects where the project is communications lead.

To assist in the management and policing of the corporate identity.

Advise and assist the business to produce communications by:

-

Developing communications plans for projects and teams.
-

Copywriting and ensuring accessibility of publications material.
-

Editing information provided by the business for print and online use.
-

Producing publications material, including designing and commissioning and managing external design work and arranging external printing and distribution.

Ensuring that house style and Homes for Haringey brand are used appropriately across the organisation and reflect our values.

Supporting the communication of business events.
-

Manage the photo library ensuring the business adheres to copyright laws and images used are relevant.

Managing award application scheduling, assisting the business to deliver agreed applications for awards.

8. Actively promoting and encouraging resident involvement in the communications the business delivers, ensuring the customer is at the centre of all that we do. 9. Promote genuine equality and diversity in all aspects of governance, staff management and service delivery.

Promote and represent Homes for Haringey at all levels throughout the organisation and to external bodies.

Take responsibility for the health and safety activities applicable to the post as set out in the Homes for Haringey policy statements.

Undertake any other duties consistent with the basic objectives of the post.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
