Commodity Manager - Category Manager

Our client, a group that offers an innovative range of technologies and services to solve challenging problems across commercial, defence and security markets, is currently looking for an experienced Commodity Manager for 26 weeks contract based in Wimborne.

As the Commodity Manager you will be responsible for defining and implementing Commodity strategies for nominated commodity to deliver cost benefit to the business and ensure development and selection of strategic suppliers to meet business requirements and objectives

Core duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):

Manage £15M of Commodity spend and manage the implementation of commodity

Develop Commodity Strategy that is published and signed off by stakeholders

Lead strategically procurement assessments including core context reviews make buy plans and developing and outsourcing strategy

Strategically select the suppliers capable of meeting commodity and business strategy.

Manages the source selection process for resourcing and new programme requirements

Manage the RFQ and analysis process for all resourcing or requirements

Negotiates and implements long term supply agreements with all key suppliers

Manages relationships with key suppliers through monthly review of supplier scorecards and monthly and quarterly business reviews with published Minutes and Actions

Accountability for delivery of cost out projects to meet CSR and profit plan commitments

Leads the development of the existing supply base in conjunction with supplier development and operational procurement team

Tactical implementation plans

Manages large contracts through regular contract reviews with suppliers

Co-operates with management to meet the employers legal duties and takes reasonable are of their own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions

Required Skills:

Experienced Make to Print commodities (machined components)

Indirect Commodity experience involved in the manufacturing processes

Extensive Strategic experience

Must have a complete understanding in the differences between Strategic and Operation procurement
