Commissioning Manager

A renewable energies operator, heavily involved within the onshore/offshore wind market are currently looking to recruit an experienced Commissioning Manager for their project offices in the West Midlands.

SCOPE

- Responsible for the overall management, execution and coordination of onshore and offshore commissioning activities for the 400MW windfarm.
- Establish and implement processes to manage the HV system to meet the Safety Rules and ensure compliance with NGT codes, reviewing relevant interfaces.
- Devise commissioning strategy for windfarm HV system and grid interface, identifying deliverables and required supporting documentation from package managers, and commissioning managers and their organisations.
- Plan, implement and communicate a commissioning management manual and level 4 programme to deliver the works to the required project deadlines.
- Make the operational decisions to manage commissioning priorities, ensuring safety management, directly reportable to the Project Construction Manager.
- Work with the OFTO/Grid Manager to develop a joint commissioning team with O&M for the network energisation, ensuring the O&M team have a very hands on and involved role.
- Select, implement and manage safe system of work for HV system commissioning and windfarm operation pre handover, consulting with the OFTO/Grid Manager, Project Construction Manager and O&M Interface Manager.
- Lead site interaction with National Grid, Data Collector and Meter Operator to ensure compliant generation from the WTG supplier.
- Recruit and manage a team of electrical engineers to control the handover, commissioning of the onshore and offshore substations and WTGs through the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning phases to deliver the required works which may include the allocation of a SAP organisation.
- Support the technical and as constructed aspects of the OFTO disposal of the HV system electrical assets to be lead by M&A and Legal representatives.
- Provide feedback to other development and construction offshore projects and Asset Management on the best practice and lessons learnt for the construction and commissioning.

EXPERIENCE

- Experienced Commissioning Manager with 5 years' experience of commissioning offshore windfarms furthered with relevant industrial or network experience.
- 15 years' experience in the commissioning of 400kV grid connections, windfarm HV electrical equipment and SCADA.
- Degree educated, preferably Chartered with Construction Management qualifications.
