COMMISSIONING MONITORING ASSISTANT

FIXED TERM TO 31/12/2013

FULL TIME

SALARY FROM £16,830 TO £21519 PER ANNUM

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the commissioning function within the Special Educational Needs Planning and Provision Team.

The appointment is on a six month fixed term or secondment basis to cover maternity leave and would suit somebody who thrives on working in a busy environment, has excellent organisational skills and is competent using Microsoft Excel to maintain commitment records and produce financial management information .

The role involves regular telephone conversations with schools so a calm telephone manner is essential.

JOB PURPOSE:

- To assist with the production, collection, inputting, co-ordination and analysis of data relating to a number of SEN Commissioning Activities.
- To prepare presentations and reports for senior managers, Commissioning Team and other relevant colleagues as required.
- To collect, record and analyse complex high quality data and ensure dissemination to colleagues and partners.
- To support effective budget management in high risk budget areas.
- To administer payments to qualifying carers of children and young people who are the subject of Residence Orders [where the alternative would usually be that the child or young person would be looked after].
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior managers, Commissioning Team and other relevant colleagues as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- To design, implement and maintain effective commitment recording systems for high cost, high risk budgets within Schools Children and Families Service including:

o Residential Placements

o Independent Fostering

o CWD

o Independent Schools/borders

o Section 17 budgets

o In-House Fostering

o Alternative Educational Packages

- To ensure all records are kept in an accurate and timely manner and are regularly reconciled to corporate financial systems.
- To administer the Residence Order payments system for qualifying carers of children and young people who would otherwise be looked after, including the development of systems to ensure that arrangements are in place to ensure that payments ate reviewed to ensure that carers continue to qualify to receive them.
