Commercial Systems Analyst

The role

Our business directorates span many different market sectors from government and military to retail and aviation, providing weather and climate services to customers in the UK and overseas. This is an incredibly important growth area for us and we'd like you to help us make the most of it by improving business efficiency.

As Commercial Systems Analyst, you'll develop and improve existing systems - or design a new system - that increases business efficiency through accurate and unified financial and sales reporting, ultimately informing management and resourcing decisions across the Directorate. We'd like you to take a close look at what we're already doing, review the current financial reporting process across the different market sector teams, and use your knowledge and expertise to understand what needs to be done.

You'll build and maintain excellent, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the business, to grow your understanding of what we can do and ensure the team buys into the improved way of working. Taking the recommendations for improvement forward and working closely with the Finance and Technical teams, you'll develop this function, ultimately standardising the way we work in this area and making the entire process as efficient and effective as possible. The person

With a good knowledge of financial reporting requirements, you're likely to be working in a finance team and looking for a brand new challenge. You'll need to have the following essential criteria to be considered for the role:

- Can design data gathering, storage and analysis methods for large quantities of sales and financial information;
- Able to demonstrate and implement improvements in relevant monitoring and reporting systems;
- Able to highlight and investigate anomalies from analysis of budgets or plans;
- Proven ability to communicate at all levels, often explaining complex financial information;
- Proficient in MS Office; with advanced skills in use of Excel for the purposes of financial
- Demonstrates an understanding of a wide range of business and financial analysis tools and methods including an understanding of the sales order process through the use of a CRM system.
