Commercial Specialist x2; Various Locations; 5 months; £280/day

My client, a government sector organization is looking to recruit a Commercial Specialist for two roles either in London OR West Yorkshire. The role of the Commercial Specialist is to undertake strategic procurement projects and category management in order to ensure best value and continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
*Develop and motivate staff
*Set standards and priorities for the procurement team
*Communicate business plans and ensure that individual/team objectives are aligned
*Administer contract change requirements for approval
*Take personal responsibility for resolving key issues
*Involve and influence necessary departments and stakeholders to meet targets
*Ensure that all programmes and projects deliver to time, cost and quality requirements and define, analyse and interpret financial data.

Essential Background experience:
*Procurement Process/Experience in delivering procurement as they will deliver Procurement projects
*Understanding Category Management and Sourcing
*Excellent relationship building with external Stakeholders Experience Required

Additional qualifications required for this role
*Ideally, post holders should have full graduate membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).
*Location: Two locations, either London OR West Yorkshire

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
*To manage LEAN end to end strategic, high value, procurement projects to deliver the Department's key objectives whilst complying with all relevant Government, EU and Departmental policies and regulations.
*To identify opportunities using spend analysis and market intelligence to develop procurement/category strategies and to proactively engage and manage the relationship with key suppliers.
*To support Civil Service Reform by developing, managing and monitoring benefits realisation including commercial savings and sustainability outcomes.
*To work with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities to collaborate, achieve efficiencies and promote the procurement profession.
*Comply with Civil Service policies and procedures, including ensuring any requests for input into Freedom of Information Requests and Parliamentary Questions are handled robustly and accurately.
*Take on other duties and responsibilities as appropriate to the grade of the role as required.

Security Clearance:
*BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)
