Background
Our client is currently recruiting for a Commercial Savings Planner for a five month contract based in London. There are a number of 12/13 Business Plan objectives that have been agreed relating to organisational efficiency savings in readiness for upcoming operational efficiencies/commercial projects. The reason for undertaking this work is to ensure the client can respond flexibly and appropriately to fluctuating business demand. The initial phase of this work would be to help plan, define and manage the procurement for Information Assurance and Architecture professional services.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
You will act as the planning and commercial exercises support representative on the tasks outlined above. Enabling the validation of the user requirements and ensuring that the business case defines potential benefits, realistic project and quality plans, regular and accurate reports to stakeholders. Ensure Gateway Reviews occur on schedule and according to procedures, manage change control, project deliverables completed within planned cost, time-scale and resource budgets are signed off. Typical tasks will include the development of plans - both high level and detailed - the identification of any dependencies between those plans and the escalation of any associated risks and issues. You will also be required to develop business cases with technical content, requirements, assist in the completion of tender documents and assist production of related documentation such as critical success factors and evaluation documentation and others such as transition plans.

Skills/Experience Required
ESSENTIAL
General experience of requirement gathering and documentation. Able to obtain buy-in for various stakeholders (both internal and external) Procurement plan creation. Define the financial requirements of the project. Can identify financial and non-financial benefits - including how they will be measured/monitored. Can identify measures and accountabilities for ongoing measurement and establishing baselines. Understanding risk and dependencies that may impact upon the delivery of benefits and the success of the project. Advanced use and knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially word and excel and of MS Project.

DESIRABLE
Knowledge of specialist services (provision or running). Some technical background so you can understand technical business cases, although working with technologists to articulate the content. Government business case approval and review procedures.

Formal Qualifications Required

DESIRABLE
Appropriate PPM, such as project management, risk management qualifications
Some relevant commercial/procurement
