The Commercialable to show the ability to support and positively influence/drive the achievement of organisational goals with awareness and understanding of these goals, the relevant governance framework, the relevant market(s), financial constraints, etc. Ability to outline a business case (options appraisal) to support procurement/category plans and/or service area projects based on appropriate research and analysis. A demonstrable commitment to providing a high quality and professional service to customers. Experience of delivering cost reduction, cashable savings and other benefits through use of appropriate market research and analysis (including benchmarking), sourcing, contract management and supplier management/development tools and techniques, including for larger/more strategic contracts. The Commercial & Procurement Partner should demonstrate management skills in terms of work planning and target achievement, including the ability to operate effectively and deliver results in a demanding and pressurised environment. This must also include project management skills established through previous experience, including for larger/more strategic contracts, and formal study where applicable. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the appropriate (EU & UK) statutory, legal and regulatory framework and relevant processes for procurement. This should include the ability to share this knowledge and deliver support to non-specialist customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order support to clients and negotiate with both suppliers and colleagues. This should be demonstrable through previous experience, and the ability to deliver key messages effectively to a diverse audience. Good verbal and numerical reasoning skills, able to demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret data to support organisational and project goals. Ability to adopt suitable communication and interpersonal styles that develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including those at a senior level. This should include proven influencing and conflict resolution skills and ability and commitment to improve personal skill set. Awareness and understanding of risk management tools and techniques and the ability to apply this to generate appropriate management options for service areas in relation to procurement and contract management. This must include the ability to demonstrate how and when this knowledge has been applied to a deliver a positive result. Proven ability to apply critical thinking and analysis to solve complex and strategic problems and/or make recommendations, providing solutions that support service and Council objectives. Ability to take a long-term, cross-council view of the likely impacts of decisions and actions as well as ensuring that short-term actions are undertaken to achieve specific aims. This should include the demonstrable ability to maintain awareness of impact on overarching strategic and political issues. Commitment to team working with demonstrable experience of working and influencing multi-functional teams to produce a positive outcome.

Full membership of the Charted Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Evidence of continuous professional development and willingness to complete relevant training & development.
