Commercial Manager

This is a job opportunity within Government for a contract position. It is also an excellent networking opportunity to move into different projects around the site and develop your career/experience.

This role is based in MoD role Abbey Wood, Bristol within the CBRN Delivery Team. You will act as a Commercial Manager/Officer with responsibility to ensure that the Delivery Team's contractual interests and Value For Money (VFM) objectives are secured at all times.

Reports to CBRN DT Senior Commercial Officer (SCO). Provides Commercial support and daily management of a variety of projects.

Other key activities include providing sound commercial guidance and advice to DT colleagues and Project Managers in relation to all other Projects within the DT as required and/or directed by the SCO. All advice to be compliant with current Legislation and Corporate Policy. Liaison with Subject Matter Experts as required such as IPR, Legal, Partnering and Cost Accounting & Assurance Services (CAAS) representatives.

You will also partake in all other required commercial activities such as performance management of commercial arrangements, pricing activity and negotiation, contract and commercial documentation drafting, support to the SCO, liaison with tendering companies, contribution to the Business Case, drafting of PQQ and ITT documentation, management of clarification questions, advice to the Commercial Strategy, input to project scheduling, liaison with SMEs (DIPR, SRG, CAAS, CLS etc.) on all relevant elements of the programme, adherence to legislative and corporate policy in all activities, tender assessment, negotiations, contract placement, preparation of debrief material and participation in debriefs.

This job is with the MoD therefore an understanding of MoD procedures would be an advantage.
