Commercial Manager:

Key responsibilities and Tasks:

Customer Contract Negotiation
*Formulation and implementation of negotiation strategy, work within the bid team as key partner and Co-ordinator. Prepare contractual documents as necessary.

*Manage and drive the Corporate Governance procedure and Gate review procedure to enable bids to be submitted on time, including pre briefing of all UK Business Unit, Global Business Unit and Corporate stakeholders

*Repository of up to date contractual information. Peer and management review.

*Successful completion of Gate review process.

General Contract Support

*Actively promote good customer relationships by attending regular meetings to proactively manage issues.

*Promote, ensure and adhere to contract governance procedures. Identify, support and educate the business in relation to the execution of contractual obligations.

Claim/Dispute Management

*Proactively manage claims to try and prevent disputes. Where disputes arise. Proactively manage responses and advise business partners of contractual position and risks. Assist in defining, agreeing and implementing strategy. Working with business partners provide details of potential claims/disputes and strategy for raising with Customers

*Evidence of contribution to meetings and client requests. Internal stakeholder satisfaction.

*Claims/disputes logs. Minutes of meetings. Strategy documents.

Change Management

*Ensure all programmes/projects have a defined change control process and ensure this process is correctly followed.
*Evidence of well managed change control process and documented change control registers.

Mitigation of Contractual Risks
*Identify, manage and mitigate unnecessary business risk and manage risk registers .
*Attend risk review meetings and provide updated mitigation activities through company reporting process.

Approvals/Delegation of Authority
*Ensure compliance with internal guidelines
*Internal department audits

Commercial Management Tools and Methodology
*Ensure standard contract tools and methodology is implemented.

Strategic Direction
*Propose, develop and agree strategy to manage contacts with business partners.
*Drive and implement strategy.

Standardisation of Contacts/Process Improvement

*Proactively support the development, improvement and standardisation of terms and conditions, guidelines, processes and best practice sharing.

People Management
*Functional and operational responsibility for team members.
*Coach, mentor, empower team members.
*Lead by example and inspire.
*Commercial management standard tool kit utilised.
*Evidence of strategy and its implementation.
*Evidence of involvement with T&Cs reviews and recommendations.
*Communication of best practice sharing.
*Reporting through Company Tools.
