SpringTechnology are looking for a Commercial Manager for our public sector client based in Dorking.

Role Purpose:
To assist with the monitoring and management of contractual issues and disputes. To contribute to the development and implementation of changes to the commercial governance of schemes to improve the commercial awareness and understanding; and to the financial governance of schemes to improve the accuracy and consistency of reported data. To work collaboratively with commercial colleagues to assist the development of commercial capability within the Directorate.

Essential Skills/Knowledge:
* Knowledge of various forms of contract, including the NEC suite of contracts for procurement and maintenance of highways and frameworks;
* Valuing compensation events and resolving contractual disputes;
* Capturing costs in order to improve cost intelligence; use of Schedules of Rates for works covering renewal and improvement schemes;
* Activity-based costing of maintenance operations; cost audits of maintenance contracts and final accounts of schemes;
* Ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels and with different technical understanding
* Experienced construction professional with relevant experience of commercial management of asset maintenance contracts; Strong track record of working and delivering results at pace.

Relevent Experience:
* Knowledge and experience of the commercial management of construction contracts
* Knowledge and experience of using and interpreting different civil engineering contracts, including NEC forms of contract
* Knowledge and understanding of road construction supply chains
* Knowledge and experience of resolving contractual disputes
* Project management knowledge and experience with good practical experience in procurement management, contract management and financial management.
* PPM Level 1, Level 2 in Procurement, Contract and Financial Management
* Able to engage effectively with staff at all levels and with different technical understanding
