Commercial Manager :

World class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager on an initial 12 month contract.

Please Note: you must be eligible for SC (Secret Level) Security Clearance if you're not already cleared to that level however the company is happy to wait for the clearance to come through.

The contract is initially for 12 months (ongoing after).

The department is offering hourly rates of £37 - £40 per hour depending on experience.

Commercial Manager Job Description:

To ensure the integrity of the Contractual activities for the - Customer Support Services (CSS) Sector, including coherence of the commercial approach across CSS and the rest of other business Sectors; with the purpose of optimising the Company's business winning prospects, and delivering maximum profitability for existing business

• Develop and Implement Unified Support Environment (USE) Commercial strategies to deliver maximum business advantage in line with business plan
• Responsible for management of the In Service business
• Work closely with all areas within the business
• Ensure that Contractual obligations are communicated and understood
• Negotiating and agreeing Contract Amendments
• Chairing/and or supporting internal contract amendment acceptance meetings
• Support the progressing of contract payments
• Liaising with the Commercial Customer on a day to day basis
• In doing the above to ensure that the business' commercial interests are protected and maximized at all times
• Ensure Contract (project) closure activities are undertaken in a timely manner
• Implement improved commercial processes, including where required user guides.
• Working within an ever changing, complex and political and Customer environment.
• Management of a multi project contract with large numbers of interfaces both internal and external to the business.
• Establish Commercial team within CSS Sector
• Effective implementation of commercial strategy on a day to day basis and the identification of business opportunities
• Ensuring timely achievement of Commercially taut bids and contracts/amendments
• Effective support to the Commercial Executive
• Ensuring adherence to Company processes
• Contributing to the achievement of the Company business plan for order intake, sales, margin and cash
• Proven understanding and knowledge of Contract obligations
• Good working relationships with Customer, industrial partners and all areas of the internal business wider Team
• Effective support to Functional and CSS Project Performance improvement activity

Skills and Experience:

• Advanced negotiation skills and interpersonal skills
• Good process and change management
• Effective influencing and team working skills
• Experienced in a broad range of commercial issues and skills including business winning and contract management skills throughout the contract lifecycle
• Commercial understanding from customer through supplier
