Commercial Finance Manager

My client a large blue chip organisation within the Thames Valley require an interim commercial finance manager for a period of 6-12 months.

The commercial finance manager will be covering everything surrounding the performance of this particular business unit including financial planning, business partnering, month-end duties and process improvements.

Your day to day responsibilities will include working with the business to ensure how performance is reported is in line with how the business operates, identifying risks and opportunities in trends, facilitate the planning periods through developing timetables, consolidating outputs, and synthesising data. You will be reviewing all plans from a high-level to ensure operations is consistent with itself, and with other areas in the business and articulate clear stories as to what the plan means and what the business needs to do in order to achieve this.

You will also be tasked with maintaining the reporting suite that clearly shows monthly performance and clearly articulates any risks/opportunities in the numbers, defining dependencies between different processes to support an end-to-end approach to analysing performance and facilitate the month-end through consolidating outturn, running all meetings and interfacing with the central teams.

Finally develop a tool to consolidate key financial and operational data to reduce time involved in preparing for monthly and quarterly meetings and ensure there is one version of the truth presented from this area to other parts of the business.

This role will suit a commercially minded individual who enjoys interacting with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, likes to offer insightful opinions into how performance can be improved and how processes can be developed to make performance measures more streamlined and easier to produce.
