Commercial Finance Business Partner/Finance/Accounting

Our client, a world leading FMCG company, is currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Business Partner on a 3-6 month contract, with an option to go permanent, based in High Wycombe.

Key deliverables:

Background

- This role provides performance reporting & business partnering to the Commercial sales team within the Rank Hovis Milling Division of Hovis Ltd (c£160m Turnover in 2014), (Part of the £600m Hovis Ltd Joint Venture between Gores private equity and Premier Foods)
- Working alongside the Head of Finance for Milling the role helps provide performance reporting, forecasting and commercial deal analysis leading to better insight, challenge and support to the Commercial sales teams.
- This role will also support the roll out of a new volume and margin reporting system aimed at enhancing business decision making and accuracy. To this end the post holder will need to exhibit behaviours appropriate to delivery of change and the strive for continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Weekly

- Analyse & present weekly Rank Hovis volume, sales and margin information
- Work with the 5 Business Unit managers to Prepare/analyse "in month" forecasts.
- Provide insight, challenge and support in understanding customer deal profitability .
- Reconciliation of "deal" to "actual" pricing to help spot and eliminate pricing errors and service failures.
- Update our new reporting system with deal margin information on a weekly basis.

Monthly

- Support/challenge business unit heads in articulating action plans required to help deliver FY15 volume and margin targets.
- Production of month end management reporting deck including variance analysis from fcst/prior periods.
- Balance sheet review of customer overriders liabilities.
- Review & challenge Business Unit forecasts ahead of Monthly Sales meetings, articulating variances, trends and risks.
- Review and challenge business opportunities being worked on, articulating movement in project pipeline, risks, issues and level of stakeholder support required.
- Support business unit management teams in their reporting back on progress against key strategic FY15 projects.

Managers Notes

- Lead/Train Business unit and account managers in the use of the new reporting system.
- Customer profitability analysis
- Assist in delivering Milling process simplification strategy
- Participate in business strategy development
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified with at least 1 years post qualified experience or qualified by experience
- Experience In using performance reporting tools
- Commercial experience essential

- Milling operates as a stand-alone business unit with targeted turnover, profit, and cash targets. The business has made a number of strategic changes over the past 2 years which have provided a solid platform to deliver on our next stage of our journey. This role is key to the vision of enhancing insight and improved decision making through the provision of accurate and timely reporting, analysis and challenge across the commercial BU, Mill Operations and procurement teams.
