COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS MANAGER REQUIRED FOR LEADING GOVERNMENT ORGANISATION BASED IN NEWPORT, SOUTH WALES WITH TRAVEL POSSIBLY AS FAR AS MIDLANDS AND SOUTH WEST.

THE POST HOLDER MUST HAVE A PROVEN TRACK-RECORD AS A CONTRACT MANAGEMENT PRACTITIONER AND A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF PROCUREMENT LEGISLATION INCLUDING EU RULES AND UK INTERPRETATIONS. The post holder must have excellent written and oral communication skills to succeed in this role.

QUALIFICATIONSQUALIFIED PURCHASING PROFESSIONAL (MCIPS)

Member of, or studying for membership of, the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM)

Working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS); or relevant degree, such as in law or finance, MBA; or related industry experience

Commercial contract managers will be Embedded with the operational teams to create a core contract management team. You will be achieving and maintaining value by effectively managing contracts, stakeholders and supplier relationships. You will promote good relationships with all stakeholders and encourage collaborative relationships as appropriate. Rehabilitation Services Senior Commercial Contract Manager is a business critical post within the Department; your professional expertise and judgement will be relied upon by senior colleagues.

PROCUREMENT PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

Assesses the level of resource and approach required to manage the contract and identify if strategic or non-strategic approach to supplier management is required.

Develops effective working relationships with senior staff in the supplier organisation and establishes appropriate governance and relationship arrangements.

Demonstrates a deep understanding of the terms and conditions of the contract, the deliverables and work with the supplier to establish a plan for delivering them.

Agrees and clarifies contract management responsibilities with stakeholders and can advise them on setting up effective processes.

UNDERSTAND AND DEPLOYS SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES - Develops and applies the principles of supplier management and supplier performance management to meet the needs of the organisation and optimise outcomes, including security of supply.

ENCOURAGING SUPPLIER INNOVATION. DISPUTE MANAGEMENT, ESCALATION AND PROBLEM RESOLUTION. Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with key suppliers to share risks, benefits and services costs, as well as identify possible scope for supplier innovation during the contract. Facilitates relationship development between appropriate teams within the Department and suppliers. Effectively manages relationship with strategic partners to enable sound partnership arrangements and through effective conflict resolution.
