Cognos Developer

IBM COGNOS DEVELOPER - 6 MONTHS - £NEGOTIABLE - BASEL (SWITZERLAND)

Cognos Developer required based in Switzerland for a our pharmaceutical client. The successful Developer will be challenged with improving output and quality from the development teams through providing a technical lead, mentoring and training. The Developer will share responsibility for the number of projects released successfully and will be expected to regularly update management.

As well as being a talented developer you will be able to provide expertise and guidance on a range of development projects.

FUNCTIONS HIGHLIGHTS

- Assist Business Analyst in requirement gathering phase
- Prepare technical specifications for Cognos developments and enhancements (including defect corrections)
- Co-ordinate and lead the design, development, testing and deployment of reporting solutions to meet end-user requirements
- Manage defects and change requests
- Co-ordinate releases (including installation instructions) and deployments between environments in line with project timescales
- Create and maintain all required documentation

CORE SKILLS

- Hands on experience withIBM Cognos 8 and 10 (Framework Manager, Transformer and Report Studio)
- Good understanding of technology stack used (Oracle/Siebel-DataStage-Cognos)
- Experience of preparing estimates and technical assumptions/risks for new reports/cubes and enhancements/upgrades for existing ones in line with business requirements
- Knowledge of relational database design and development - Oracle, SQL skills
- Experience in implementing security in the Cognos
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- MUST SPEAK FLUENT GERMAN TO LIASE WITH STAKEHOLDERS

DESIRED SKILLS

- Dimensional/Kimball model data warehouses
- Experience of working in an SCRUM environment or with another other Agile methodology
- Experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry.
