Cognitive Interviewer

Description of requirement:
Our client is looking at developing and testing several of their business survey questionnaires. As part of this process qualitative interviews will be conducted with businesses in their own premises to test for example, their understanding of the proposed questions, and whether they are able to provide the requested information. To carry out these interviews, and the associated write-ups, they are recruiting a Cognitive Interviewer

Training and briefing will be provided but given the requirements of these posts, graduates (or candidates with equivalent experience) with a background in qualitative research methods/in depth qualitative interviewing are sought.

Purpose:
To test prototype business survey questionnaires with businesses
The interviewers will be recruited on a one month contract, commencing 7thth November subject to security checks.
Each interviewer will be expected to attend training and briefing sessions in Newport, Gwent, Wales.
Each interviewer will be expected to conduct interviews at various locations in England and Wales and write up their interviews. The recruitment of businesses to participate in the interviews will be carried out by our client.
Interviewers will also be expected to attend feedback sessions to collate the findings from their interviews. Again these will be held in Newport, Gwent, Wales.
There may be further work opportunities for the interviewers after the end of the contract.

Position Holder Responsibilities:
Key criteria for the interviewer posts:
Graduate with knowledge and experience of qualitative research methods/in depth qualitative interviewing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience of following instructions but problem solving where needed.
Experience of working in a team.
Monday to Friday availability throughout the contract.
Willingness and ability to travel to different locations in England and Wales.
Willingness and ability to attend our clients site in Newport for briefing, coaching and feedback sessions.

Skills
High standard of spoken English (the ability to communicate complex messages in a simple way)
High standard of written English (the ability to write clear and comprehensible interview notes)
Professional in approach and ability to put people at ease/build rapport in an interview setting
