Cloud Solution Architect - AWS & Azure

Our client is a specialist in finance and insurance products and services, they operate worldwide. They are looking for a Cloud Architect to be based in the Netherlands for a minimum years contract.

The company's Cloud Brokering and Solution Design team are currently looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect to assist in the delivery of new technology solutions to the company's Global businesses.

Solutions are designed to address business needs based on requirements and defined architectural standards/principles. Emerging technologies are researched to proactively understand how they can be leveraged, using a cloud-first mentality.

As solutions are refined, proofs of concept are frequently carried out. The group determines the best solutions using established internal processes including architecture reviews, risk assessments, and financial analysis. The candidate will work with a team of individuals responsible for leading the brokering and solution design of IT technology solutions in support of the business to ensure the systems are scalable, reliable, secure, supportable, and achieve business and IT performance and budgetary objectives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Intake of new initiatives
- Providing business partners a single entry/intake point to the company

Solution Design

- Ensuring requirements are understood and technical designs are created and communicated accurately to the operational/support teams. Responsible for technical Leadership and development of cloud technologies, architectures and standards for use

Cloud Brokering

- Assisting with, and ensuring all due diligence is followed and approvals are obtained to deploy cloud based solutions

Handoff to Execution

- Transition initiatives from 'design' phase to proper execution channels including the Project Management Office and agile scrum teams.

Required Qualifications:

*Breadth of knowledge across majority of technology disciplines including web, database, data center, and workforce computing technologies
*Proven understanding of cloud technologies available and vendors providing cloud services - Including but not limited to Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
*Experience working with public cloud providers
*Strong communication skills
*Strong understanding of technology architecture principles
*Ability to convert complex information into simple, explainable solutions
*Understanding of current and future business needs met by infrastructure platforms
*Possesses a strong planning orientation with integrative and strategic thinking skills
*Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
*Ability to coach others in new technologies and strategies
*Ability to drive and achieve consensus/support from large diverse groups
*Strong written and verbal communication skills enabling effective articulation of strategy
