Cloud Manager-IaaS-Linux-C.Lon-£50K+Bens This is a fantastic opportunity to join a technology driven environment and start a project to provide a cloud computing platform providing a private Infrastructure as a service (Iaas). The Cloud Manager will be responsible for the oversight, planning, co-ordination, management and delivery of this major business project from inception to completion. The Cloud Manager must be able to guide and support project delivery to agreed methodology, quality standards, and specification, both on time and within budget. * Experience and knowledge of using cloud infrastructure software, such as OpenStack, OpenNebula, or vSphere. * Ability and willingness to adapt to using other infrastructure software. * A proven track record in Linux Systems Administration. * Significant experience of project administration and project lifecycles. * Experience of working with and within project teams. Desirable * Knowledge and experience of NAS, SAN and other storage systems, such as those provided by Cisco, Sun, NetApp, or EMC. Responsibilities & Activities * To take the lead on the planning, co-ordination, management and delivery of the Cloud project. * To ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget * Liaise with a variety of sectors and external agencies in relation to the project. * Commission hardware to support the cloud platform. * Select and install a suitable infrastructure software such as OpenStack, OpenNebula, or vSphere. * Prepare new Linux and Windows images or adapt existing Linux and Windows images to run on the infrastructure. * Develop a web front end to manage and configure virtual machines. * Develop an accounting system to record and limit the number of virtual machines, number of cores, time and memory users may use in the cloud. * Document the configuration of the cloud platform, and train other staff in supporting its operation. * Interact with, and support the mission of , the Computer Support Group For more information please contact James Spear at Computer Futures
