Cloud Infrastructure Support Engineer Job

CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SAN RAMON CA.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Applied experience with modern application technologies and design patterns including Cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, and horizontal scaling
- Seven (7+) years of experience in software industry with at least 5 years in software technical support or system administrator.
- Big Data and/or Hadoop support experience preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- You will be accountable for taking direct support cases from Data Services users & customers. Your primary responsibility will be providing support for businesses and customers that consume the data lake services.
- You will be responsible for managing support cases on a daily basis including initial triage, isolating and diagnosing the problem, ensuring issues are reproducible, and subsequent resolution of the issue.
- You will also be responsible for building the knowledge base to prevent recurrence of escalation for previously resolved case.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering OR "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Seven (7+) years of experience in software industry with at least 5 years in software technical support or system administrator. Big Data and/or Hadoop support experience preferred
- Hands-on experience using Hadoop technologies (HDFS, HBASE, Hive) PivotalHD distribution preferred
- Strong SQL skills including hands-on experience with NoSQL, Postgres and GreenplumDB
- Hands-on experience with Kerberos and ingestion tools: Sqoop and Flume
- Hands-on experience in working with Unix/Linux and Scripting languages: Shell, Perl and Python
