Clinical Psychologist
Type of Assignment: Full-time, contract
Length of Assignment: Until March 31, 2013, with possibility of extension
Description of Project or Company/Organization:
Through our Health Service Support Contract with the Department of National Defense, Calian's professionals work in partnership with military teams providing primary healthcare care to today's Canadian Forces. Calian's healthcare teams consist of more than 500 professionals providing services coast-to-coast at over 30 locations in Canada.

Job Description:
The mission:
For some military members returning home the psychological and social effects of operations may not become apparent for months or years. These effects could include substance abuse, PTSD, depression, anxiety, somatic complaints, relationship problems and family stress. This unique opportunity will allow you to work in partnership with military healthcare providers promoting wellness and providing timely interventions that support and empower military members to achieve their highest level of functioning - both at work and at home.
Your Contribution:
- Administer full range of diagnostic tests for psychometric assessments, interpret results and prepare psychological evaluations
- Direct treatment of general mental health disorders including PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders
- Lead and participate in development, instruction and counseling during group sessions
- Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment
- Assist in the identification, development and evolution of mental health programming
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
- Registration for Autonomous practice in Clinical Psychology with the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick
- Two years experience in a health service institution
- Diagnosis and treatment of PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders
Desirable Qualifications:
- Four plus years experience in applied clinical psychology
- Bilingualism an asset (English/French)
