Avery Partners is currently recruiting Psychiatrists for our clients throughout the state of California. We have immediate requirements for multiple positionsfor multiple locations for a six month contract position, five days per week. Competitive salary.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 12 months of continuous experience within last 3 years in a public or private institution - (Internship is not included in experience)
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of California and possess a valid Physician license as issued by the Medical Board/Osteopathic Board of California.
- Must be a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy (M.D./D.O.), be Board Eligible or Board Certified in psychiatry
- Valid certificate in psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- Completion of a four-year residency program in psychiatry accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or certified by the RCPSC
- Completion of a broad-based clinical year in an ACGME-accredited or ADA-accredited or RCPSC-certified training program in internal medicine, family medicine, or pediatrics; or an ACGME-accredited or ADA-accredited or RCPSC-certified transitional year program that included a minimum of four months of primary care; or an ACGME-accredited or ADA-accredited or RCPSC-certified residency in a clinical specialty requiring comprehensive and continuous patient care
- Three years of postgraduate, specialized residency training in an ACGME-accredited or ADA-accredited or RCPSC­ certified psychiatry program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification

General Responsibilities:

- Provide extensive psychiatric services or work in a review, evaluation, or consultative capacity for a variety of patients, ie, youth, adults (male and female)
- Provide treatment for mentally ill patient's crisis interventions, face-to-face interviews, etc.
- Conduct initial mental health evaluations including criminal, psychiatric and substance abuse case history to assess current patient needs and make treatment recommendations
- Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations including clinical reviews, applying suicide risk assessment protocols, pertinent data/chart reviews, proper documentation and consultations as needed
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings
- Document all care provided to the patient-inmate/ward, including face-to-face contacts and IDTT meetings
- Monitor progress using Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan and Education (SOAPE) formatted progress notes
